Missions Conference
Each year Heritage sponsors a Missions Conference to bring the the foreign mission field to Prattville. This is one of the most meaningful and special things that we have the opportunity to host during the year. Missionary couples and families are brought in for an exciting four day event that challenges our hearts, widens our perspective, deepens our devotion to the God who has sent us into the world, and opens our eyes to all that God is doing worldwide. We are blessed, and in turn we are able to be a blessing to these missionaries that come for the conference. Through Project Perissos (from a Greek word that means exceedingly and abundantly above) we are able to provide for the needs of our missionaries. encourage them, and send them home better equipped to face the challenges of the field.
The Missions Conference this year will be held from February 26-29. The theme this year is perseverance in our mission. This is our 25th year as a church and our 25th missions conference. It would be easy for missions to simply become just another thing we do. But we are all about mission, and the declaration of the gospel. This years' conference is designed to be a reminder to each of us that the task is not over until Jesus Christ returns to take us home. As Christ has enabled us for 25 years, we believe he will continue to empower and enable us to serve Him. As He has shown Himself unswervingly faithful to us, we must dedicate ourselves to discipline, faithfulness, and perseverance each and every day to accomplish the task Christ gave us. Philippians 3:13-14- "...But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."
Standing on this mountain top, Looking just how far we’ve come
Knowing that for every step You were with us
Kneeling on this battleground seeing just how much You've done
Knowing every victory was Your power in us
Scars and struggles on the way but with joy our hearts can say
Yes, our hearts can say
Never once did we ever walk alone
Never once did You leave us on our own
You are faithful God, You are faithful
Evermore we are breathing in Your grace
Evermore we'll be breathing out Your praise
You are faithful God, You are faithful
(lyrics to "Never Once" by Matt Redman)
Onward. Upward. Always.
